How do I install python Mininet

Install Mininet with Python

Initially, you have to install Mininet with python by executing the following steps,

  Step 1:

First execute the following command line to install Mininet with python.

 Command for install git,

 sudo apt-get install git

To install git

Step 2:

On second step, execute the following command line for clone Mininet from github .

git clone git://github.com/mininet/mininet

Step 3:

    To change directory and install Mininet with supported python packages then execute the following command line ,

cd mininet

./util/install.sh -a

  • POX

       A python based SDN controller platform will be used to set up rules on the Mininet switches. Launch the controller by using the following command lines,

      sudo ~/pox/pox.py misc.part2controller

  • RYU

      RYU is a component based software defined networking (SDN) framework .It supports various protocols for managing network devices, such as open flow. Install the controllers by using the commands.

              sudo apt install python3-pip

                               sudo pip3 install ryu
