How to Install Mininet

Follow from Step 1 to Step 5 in order to create Mininet simulation tool. Quick guide to create Mininet simulation. Reach us , if you want an customize Mininet simulation projects.

1. Download the mininet backup

   We download the mininet backup from the following link —- git://github.com/mininet/mininet.If you click on the download zip option, then we can extract the downloaded zip file.

2. Commands execution

   Next open the terminal by press ctrl+alt+T buttons or search from the installed software list.in the terminal execute the following commands
   cd mininet
   git tag # list available versions
   git checkout -b 2.2.1 2.2.1 # or whatever version you wish to install
   install.sh –h
   during the checkout execution, you can specify which version you want to install.

3. Execute the commands to open the simulation tool

   Change the mininet installed location by using the command cd. The location must have the main mininet executable file which is named as “./mininedit.py”.

4. Execute the main command

   Execute the main command “./mininedit.py” to get the simulation window. If the “./mininedit.py is not in the executable format, then change into executable format, by using the command sudo chmod +x mininedit.py

5. Execute Mininet File

   After execute the ./ mininedit.py command in the terminal , we can View and access the simulation window, like the below screen
