How to Open a Project in Omnet++

  1. Download the omnet++ package

    Download the omnet++ package from the following url, in the site there multiple verion of the omnet++ is listed. Select your needed version of omnet++, here we select the eversion omnet++ 4.6 , after that click the download button , which is displayed in the below of selected version

  2. Open the terminal/ mingwenv window

    Open the mingwenv window. By double click mingwenv window from the omnet++ installed location.Open the terminal/ mingwenv window

  3. Execute the command window

    In the mingwenv command window ,
    Execute the command -> . setenvExecute the command window

  4. Execute the Configure command window

    In the mingwenv command window ,
    Execute the command -> ./configureExecute the Configure command window

  5. Execute the Make command window

    In the mingwenv command window ,
    Execute the command -> makeExecute the Make command window

  6. Execute the Omnet++ command window

    In the mingwenv command window ,
    Execute the command -> omnetppExecute the Omnet++ command window

  7. Select the workspace window

    Select the stored workspace, with full location, to select the workspace , use the browse button and select the location and press ok button or type the full location . , like the below exampleSelect the workspace window

  8. Import/open the Package

    Import the Project package source package from the stored workspace location
    For perform the process, goto file menu , then select the import optionImport/open the Package

  9. Import/workspace option of the Package

    Select the existing projects into workspace optionImport/workspace option of the Package

  10. Import/project Package

    Select/browse the Project package location from the workspaceImport/project Package

  11. Import/workspace loaction Package

    Select/browse location from the workspaceImport/workspace loaction Package

  12. Project package clean local option

    Next right click on the Project package package and select the clean local optionProject package clean local option

  13. Project package clean project option

    Next right click on the Project package package and select the clean project optionProject package clean project option

  14. Project package build project option

    Next right click on the Project package package and select the build project optionProject package build project option

  15. Run as OMNeT++ simulation option

    Next right click on the Project package package and select the Run As OMNeT++ simulation optionRun as OMNeT++ simulation option

  16. Main configuration file

    Main configuration file, with the file extension .iniMain configuration file

  17. Source code for Networking file

    Source code for the networking file with the file extension .nedSource code for Networking file
