How to Use Inet Framework in Omnet++

Follow from Step 1 to Step 15 in order to create Omnet++ using Simulation projects. Quick guide to create Omnet++ simulation. Reach us , if you want an customize Omnet++ simulation projects works for scholars.

1. Download the omnet++ package

   Download the omnet++ package from the following url, in the site there multiple verion of the omnet++ is listed. Select your needed version of omnet++, here we select the eversion omnet++ 4.6 , after that click the download button , which is displayed in the below of selected version

2. Open the terminal/ mingwenv window

   Open the mingwenv window. By double click mingwenv window from the omnet++ installed location.

3. Execute the command

   In the mingwenv command window ,
   Execute the command -> . setenv
   Execute the command -> ./configure
   Execute the command -> make

4. Execute the omnet++ command

   Execute the command -> omnetpp

5. Select the workspace

   Select the stored workspace, with full location, to select the workspace , use the browse button and select the location and press ok button or type the full location . , like the below example

6. Import inet the Package

   Import the inet source package from the stored workspace location
   For perform the process, goto file menu , then select the import option

7. INet location from the workspace

   Select the existing projects into workspace option
   Select/browse the inet location from the workspace

8. Clean local option

   Next right click on the inet package and select the clean local option

9. Clean project option

   Next right click on the inet package and select the clean project option

10. Build project option

    Next right click on the inet package and select the build project option

11. Main configuration file

    Main configuration file, with the file extension .ini

12. Networking file

    Source code for the networking file with the file extension .ned

13. Link with project package

    To perform the link the inet package with project package , right click on the project package and choose the property option

14. Project Reference Option

    Click on the project reference option and selec the inet pacakage name

15. Run As OMNeT++ simulation option

    Next right click on the inet package and select the Run As OMNeT++ simulation option
