Download and get started with Mininet
To download and get started with Mininet by executing the following commands in the ubuntu terminal. There are following steps to download and get started with Mininet,
Step 1:
Download the Mininet sourcecodeby execute the command:
git clone https://github.com/mininet/mininet
Step 2:
After executing, the following git command is used to check out the latest Mininet version.
The git checkout command is used to navigate between the branches created by git branch.
Git checkout command line:
Git checkout -b mininet-2.3.0 2.3.0
Cd..
Step 3:
After checking the git check out command, for installing Mininet execute the following comment line.
Command to install Mininet:
sudo mininet/util/install.sh -a
Step 4:
Following to the installing of Mininet then test the basic Mininet functionality by the following command lines.
Command line to test the basic functionality:
sudo mn –switch ovsbr –test pingall
Step 5:
After processing the four steps, Mininet can be started with options that specify the network topology to be created. Start Mininet with sample simulation using the command.
Command line for sample simulation:
sudo mn
During this process, we will create a network with two hosts,1 switch and 1 controller.
