How do I open Miniedit in Ubuntu

MiniEdit   is Minnet‘s graphical user interface. It is provided by the Mininet package in all currently supported versions of Ubuntu. Through this article you can get to know the process involved to open Miniedit in Ubuntu.

Mininet installation

 This below instructions describes the process of Mininet installation. Initially, the first step is open the Ubuntu terminal window and then execute the following command lines for install the Mininet package,

cd mininet/util

sudo ./install.sh -a

Open Miniedit in Ubuntu

Followed by installation of Mininet, to run a simulation using Mininet in Ubuntu, you need to open the miniedit in Ubuntu, Which is the python based script file by executing the following command lines in the Ubuntu terminal,

cd /home/research/mininet/sample_project

sudo ./miniedit.py

Open Miniedit

Design the topology

The processes followed by installation of Mininet and then open Miniedit in Ubuntu and the next process is designing the topology. To design the network topology, click and drag the needed tools from the right window in the Miniedit window and make a connection between the nodes,

After designing the topology and then save the topology file by click File àsave àEnter the file name.

A network simulator can predict the performance of a computer network or a wireless communication network.

The final step is run the network simulation by Run à run option.
