Nam is a network animator and that provides the packet – level animation and also collects detailed protocol information from a simulation. In this article, you can get to know about the process required to install Nam.
Download Nam package
First download the nam _1.15-10 _i386.deb package from the following web link,

Install nam package
After downloaded the Nam package, then install the nam package. Install the nam package in Ubuntu by execute the following command in the terminal window,
sudo dpkg –install nam_1.15-10_i386.deb
Execute Ns2 simulation
Once the installation process is completed, then you have to execute the NS2 simulation for generate the nam trace file,
cd /home/research/Desktop/NS2_Simulation
sudo ./ns Main.tcl
Start nam package and simulation
Initially, start nam in Ubuntu by executing the following command in the terminal window and get the result as given below,
sudo nam
Select the auto generated trace file from Ns2 simulation to get the nam based simulation, which is save with file extension .nam.
