Performance Analysis of Network Packet Classification Algorithms

Implementation Plan

Step 1: Initially, we Construct a SDN network  with 50 sensor nodes, 2 gateways and 1 controller.

Step 2: Then, we implement the TupleTree algorithm in the network and simulate the network.

Step 3: Then, we collect network data including packets send/rec, throughput,memory usage, and end-to-end delay.

Step 4: Next, we improve hashing distribution efficiency using Adaptive Partitioning TupleTree algorithm based on collected data.

Step 5: Next, we perform  dynamic rule partitioning using RL-Optimized TupleTree with reinforcement learning based on collected data.

Step 6: Next, we reduce tree height and memory overhead using Parallel Hash TupleTree based on collected data.

Step 7: Finally, we plot performance metrics for the following

7.1 Number of Sensor Nodes vs. Throughput
7.2 Number of Sensor Nodes vs. Latency
7.3 Number of Sensor Nodes vs. Energy Consumption
7.4 Number of Sensor Nodes vs. Memory usage


Software Requirements:

1. Development Tool:  NS 3.30 or above with Python
2. Operating System:  Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (64-bit) or above
