How to Install NS2 in Windows 7 64 Bit

1. Software Download

   Cygwin

   Suggest32-bit downloadIn the version of Cygwin, the 64-bit version was downloaded at the beginning, and it was found that some of the dependent libraries for installing ns could not be found later, and it was not successful when installing ns.

2. Install Cygwin Package Directory

   1.Initially, Select the download source of the files needed for installation, here choose to download from the network
   2.Next,Select the installation path, the remaining default choices can be
   3.Next,Select the storage path of the files needed for download and installation
   4.Next,Select the download source, here I choose the 163 image as the download source, there is no at the beginning, you need to add it manually
   5.Next,Select the basic library files needed for ns installation
   gcc、gcc-g++、gcc4、gcc4-g++
   gwak、gnuplot、gzip、make、patch、perl、tar、w32api、diffutils
   X11
   Select in ViewCategory，Uncheck the bottom left corner, Search the above related library files in search, and thenClick Deafult behind All in the middle display list, and then Deafult will become Install

3. Install NS-2.35

   The installation directory is the directory where Cygwin is installed in windows-7 64 bit
   1.Unzip the downloaded ns package (we download the package as :ns-allinone-2.35.tar.gz), after download the package Copied to Installation directory\home\ user based directory
   2.Open Cygwin, use “cd /home” Command jump to /home Under the path, use “ls” Command, you can see the existence of the current directory ns-allinone-2.35.tar.gz
   3.use “tar -zxvf ns-allinone-2.35.tar.gz” Command, unzip ns-allinone-2.35.tar.gz, Then a file named “ns-allinone-2.35 folder, jump to that folder
   4.use notepad++ or ultraledit, turn on Installation directory \home\ns-allinone-2.35\ns-2.35\linkstate\ls.h. Then locate Line 137
   and modify the code like , the below,
   The source code is
   void eraseAll() { erase(baseMap::begin(), baseMap::end()); }
   modified to
   void eraseAll() { this->erase(baseMap::begin(), baseMap::end()); }
   Open Cygwin and jump to /home/ns-allinone-2.35/ns-2.35, execute the commands, ./configure Command, then type make clean Command, enter last make Command, after that get the successful message.
