How to Create First Simulation Project in Omnet++

Time needed: 6 minutes

Follow from Step 1 to Step 14 in order to create Omnet++ using Simulation projects. Quick guide to create Omnet++ simulation. Reach us , if you want an customize Omnet++ simulation projects works for scholars.

1. Open the terminal/ mingwenv window

   Open the mingwenv window. By double click mingwenv window from the omnet++ installed location. then you can view the below window

2. Execute the mingwenv command

   In the mingwenv command window , execute the omnetpp command , then you can view the below window

3. Select the workspace location

   Select the stored workspace, with full location, to select the workspace , use the browse button and select the location and press ok button or type the full location . , like the below example

4. Create a new simulation project

   To create new simulation project , in omnet++, goto file menu and choose New -> OMNeT++ Project from the menu.

5. Enter the new project workspace location

   Enter the new project name and specify the workspace location

6. Project Template

   Select the project template from the given list, which is already displayed

7. Construct the network

   Construct the network, with the default components, which are we need in our project process, the network file stored in the .ned format

8. Build the project

   Perform the build the project process, by right click on the project folder and choose the build project option from the list

9. Build Project Option

   By right click on the project folder and choose the build project option from the list

10. Project Option List

    In this projects, by right click on the project folder and choose the build project option from the list

11. Execute the simulation

    Perform the simulation execution process, by right click on the project package and choose Runas option and select the omnet++ simulation option.

12. Source node and sink node

    Get the simulation window with one souce node and one sink node

13. Simulation Window

    Next press the run button in the simulation window

14. Running Process

    Next press the run button in the simulation window
    Then get the simulation running process
